Dana obtained the IFS Certificate
27. august 2009

The Dana Company obtained the IFS certificate in confirmation of it meeting the requirements of the International Food Standard for quality assessment of suppliers in the food processing industry.

Dana introduced and certified the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system in the year 2000. In order to ensure safe and appropriate processes starting from processing and all the way through to sales, we implemented the HACCP internal control system that is part of the quality management system. As we are aware of the requirements put forth by the increasingly demanding business environment, we wish to adapt and bring our activities in line with the industry’s criteria. It is our guideline to operate in line with quality standards, ensuring the safety and quality of our products and at the same time increasing customer trust.

The obtained IFS Food standard confirms this. This is an international standard for quality assessment of suppliers in the food processing industry. It enables the retailer (or wholesaler) to verify the quality and safety of products provided by the supplier of branded products. The standard encompasses over 250 requirements evaluated using a scoring system. The standard evaluates the entire internal control system, from raw material to distribution and customer care. At the end of the audit, the certification body calculates the percentage to which these requirements are met. Dana thus received the certificate on the higher level, meeting over 95 % of all requirements.

We at Dana are aware that quality is an obvious necessity and no longer a competitive advantage while ensuring safe products of a high quality defines new requirements guiding and leading our operation. This certificate is a valuable acquisition for Dana, as it reflects the successful and continual direction towards professional and consistent operations.
